European entrepreneurs announced as finalists for the 2018 Cartier Women's Initiative Awards

Austria’s Kristina Tsvetanova, Germany’s Julia Römer and Spain’s Luz Rello have been announced as Finalists representing Europe for the 2018 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.

Austria’s Kristina Tsvetanova, Germany’s Julia Römer and Spain’s Luz Rello have been announced as Finalists representing Europe for the 2018 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.

Designed to support women entrepreneurs, the Cartier Women's Initiative awards were established in 2006 by Cartier, the INSEAD business school and McKinsey & Company. With 18 finalists across the following regions: Latin America, North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa, and Asia-Pacific, the awards promote female-led and socially responsible startup companies. 

In Europe, three finalists have been shortlisted: 

Julia Römer, Coolar: Based in Berlin, Julia and her team have developed a solar-powered, off-the-grid refrigerator for the reliable storage of vaccines in developing countries.

Luz Rello, Change Dyslexia: Barcelona-based entrepreneur Luz launched a web-based programme that allows detection and treatment of dyslexia in children

Kristina Tsvetanova, BLITAB Technology: Bulgrian-born, Vienna-based Kristina has developed a tactile tablet for the blind and visually impaired

The announcement of the Laureates takes place during the Awards ceremony in Singapore on April 26th, 2018. Each regional winner will be awarded $100,000 USD in funding, personalised coaching for one year, networking and visibility opportunities.
