India’s Swati Pandey and Kristin Kagetsu, and Pakistan’s Sara Saeed have been announced as Finalists representing Asia Pacific for the 2018 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.
Designed to support women entrepreneurs, the Cartier Women's Initiative awards were established in 2006 by Cartier, the INSEAD business school and McKinsey & Company. With 18 finalists across the following regions: Latin America, North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa, and Asia-Pacific, the awards promote female-led and socially responsible startup companies.
In Asia Pacific, three finalists have been shortlisted:
Sara Saeed, Sehat Kahani: Inspired by her own experiences, Sara launched a tele-health platform that connects at-home, out of work female doctors to patients in remote, under-served areas of Pakistan.Swati Pandey, Arboreal Agro Innovations: New Delhi-based Swati started her business, an industrial scale, vertically-integrated producer of stevia, a 100% natural substitute for sugar, to combat type 2 diabetes in India.
Kristin Kagetsu, Saathi Inc: US-born, Ahmedabad-based entrepreneur, Kristin, produces and distributes 100% biodegradable sanitary pads offering positive impacts on health, the environment and society.
The announcement of the Laureates takes place during the Awards ceremony in Singapore on April 26th, 2018. Each regional winner will be awarded $100,000 USD in funding, personalised coaching for one year, networking and visibility opportunities.
