Cartier has announced Filipina entrepreneur, Carmina Bayombong, as the 2019 Cartier Women’s Initiative Oceania and South Asia laureate. Carmina received her award at the programme’s annual ceremony, held in San Francisco.
Her company, InvestEd, acts as an investment platform that provides student loans to underprivileged youth in the Philippines. To date, InvestEd has helped provide education loans to 141 students and plans to be the country’s leader in education financing in the next five years.
Cartier CEO Cyrille Vigneron announced the seven laureates selected by an independent international jury amongst nearly 2,900 applicants from 142 countries.
Each laureate has been awarded US $100,000 in prize money. All laureates will be receiving personalised business coaching, media visibility, networking opportunities as well as the option to attend an INSEAD Executive Program (ISEP).
