Cartier has announced Brazilian entrepreneur, Paula Gomez, as the 2018 Cartier Women's Initiative Awards Latin America laureate. Paula received her award at the programme's annual ceremony, held in Singapore.
Her company, Epistemic, is a medical device company developing a non-invasive device that informs patients and caregivers via a mobile app of an oncoming seizure 25 minutes in advance. The device will be a first of its kind and will go on sale in 2019 in an effort to improve the lives of the 65 million people in the world with epilepsy.
Cartier CEO Cyrille Vigneron announced the six laureates selected by an independent international jury amongst nearly 2,800 applications from over 130 countries.
Each laureate has been awarded US$100,000 in prize money. All laureates and finalists will be receiving personalized business coaching, media visibility, networking opportunities as well as the option to attend an INSEAD Executive Program (ISEP).
