Cartier has announced Indian entrepreneur, Swati Pandey, as the 2018 Cartier Women's Initiative Awards Asia-Pacific laureate. Swati received her award at the programme's annual ceremony, held in Singapore.
Her company, Arboreal Agro Innovations, oversees the production of an innovative, high-yielding variety of Stevia, which is fast emerging as a low-calory, environmentally friendly natural sweetener. Swati's business has a triple focus of achieving economic, social and environmental value: from using less water and land but delivering the same level of sweetness as sugar, to employing local farmers who could see their income potentially double in five years, simply due to stevia’s higher cash profitability per acre.
Cartier CEO Cyrille Vigneron announced the six laureates selected by an independent international jury amongst nearly 2,800 applications from over 130 countries.
Each laureate has been awarded US$100,000 in prize money. All laureates and finalists will be receiving personalized business coaching, media visibility, networking opportunities as well as the option to attend an INSEAD Executive Program (ISEP).
